At Gichangi estate coffee farm, we pride ourselves on producing premium-specialty coffee that meets the highest quality and taste.

meticulous process, ensuring that each cup of coffee you enjoy is a
testament to our dedication and passion.
Gichangi estate is located in Mutira Kirinyaga county, central
Kenya. 1700m above sea level on the slopes of Mt.Kenya. Owned by
the Gichangi family,the first coffee bushes were planted by family
patriarch and matriarch Stephen Gichangi and Jane Gichangi in 1955
and later taken over by their sons.
The estate is professionally run with input from qualified
agronomists who guide the entire farming process including aspects
such as pruning,manure and fertilizer application,disease control
and berry picking. The crop variety is sl 28 and sl grafted. Crops
grown around are bananas, tea, avocado and macadamia nuts.
Our processing
- Washed clean coffee
- Selective handpicking:we handpick only the ripest,red cherries to ensure the highest quality
- Sorting: each cherry is carefully sorted to remove and process defective beans separately.
- Pulping: the cherries are pulped to remove the outer skin
- Fermentation: the beans undergo fermentation to develop their distinct flavours.
- Washing and pregrading: after fermentation, the beans are thoroughly washed and pregraded
- Drying and bin storage: finally the beans are dried and stored in bins to preserve their quality awaiting milling into final product (green beans)
